Aloha Friday!! My favorite day of the week!
I am finally feeling better, but still sniffly, and this cough is going to drive me nuts!
I feel like I have not had any time to blog about something for my class. We are heading into the last two weeks of 3rd quarter and I am just trying to get my assessments together and am scheduling conferences with parents. So forgive me for my lack of non-educational posts lately.
It is the first day of March though (Holy Guacamole Batman!!) Where does the time go??
Well Farley is having her wonderful linky and I am always happy to link up and see what everyone has been up to.
Wednesday while driving to work, my car froze up and everything went off!! I coasted over to the side of the road and parked. I waited a few minutes and then restarted it and made it to school. It did this once before about 2 years ago and they never found anything wrong with it.
Well it happened again this morning!! Right at an intersection it dies while driving and I was lucky to be able to pull off the road out of the way. Luckily we drive along the coast and the traffic is super mellow. A parent of a student in my class pulled up right behind me and waited to make sure everything was okay. After a few minutes my car started right up and I was able to get to school.
So now I have an appointment to take my car in on Tuesday. My car is at 149,000 miles and last year I got a new transmission along with many other items fixed on this old baby. It's a 2000 Honda Odyssey and I was hoping to make it to 200,000 miles before I get a new one. Now I am rethinking if things are going to just keep going wrong. I may start researching new cars this weekend:(
I am really looking forward to Spring Break and finally getting to meet some bloggers that now reside here in Hawaii!!
I hope you all had a wonderful Friday and enjoy your weekend. Don't forget to link up to this months Currently.
Hahaha! Love your like, love, hate! You Hawaiian bloggers should link up on my blogs by state page - I don't have any Hawaiians yet! Although it seems that you didn't have any problems finding each other! :)

Thank you Heidi. We seem to have a lot of crappy ones lately. What a waste of time:(
DeleteOur family loves Phineas and Ferb. Do you have their CD? It makes us dance, do crazy things, and helps with finishing chores without much winning :)

Can't wait for the blogger meet up! I hope your car is an easy fix or you get a new one! I'm also thinking about report card assessments. I have to turn mine in early to the gen ed teachers so I have to get mine done by next Friday. Yikes! Guess what we're doing next week?

I honestly love my crappy old van, but I hate the thought of dumping more money into it :( Good luck with report cards, ours don't have to be done until after the break:)
DeleteI'm with ya on the "crappy workshops!" Too many of those & not enough of the good ones! Hope you're enjoying the sunshine!

Love your blog! This same thing just happened to me last month, and they found a short in my battery (which wasn't old!). They gave me a deal on a new battery since it was a problem with the battery itself. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteOur spring break's in two weeks, too! And I'm also in the middle of report card writing then conferences next week. I hope your cold goes away soon. I'm still getting over pneumonia. Almost there:) Good luck with your new car.

Must be something going on with teacher's cars! I've seen a lot of people posting about something going wrong on their car lately...including me! My brakes went out this morning. That was freaky! Glad I was on side street and going slow anyways!
