Workin' It Wednesday-Summer Fitness Goals

Aloha friends!  Welcome back to another edition of Workin' It Wednesday!  I am starting off today announcing the big winner of last week's giveaway.  Drumroll please......

Congratulations Kim!!! You will be receiving lots of emails soon!! What a fun way to start your summer!!

This week for my Workin' It Wednesday post I decided it was time to focus on my summer fitness.

This past year I feel like my body has really changed.  I am not any heavier, actually I don't know how much I weigh, I don't own a scale.  My clothes fit, but they fit differently.  As I am aging my body parts have headed south and it's not a pretty sight!

Blogging and spending so much time on my computer, driving my kids around and just not eating as much as I should, have taken a toll and the main area is my gluteus maximus, or should I say gluteus minimus!!

Seriously, I have no butt.  It is gone.  I am suffering from severe Soggy Bottom!!

My daughter commented the other day after I came back from a surf and said, "Whoa, your butt is so flat, it doesn't even fill up your bikini bottoms!"

What a way to make a girl feel good!!

I hate to post this picture, it is not me of course, it's Cindy Crawford.  We are the same age and I have to say we have the same butt!! (That's about all we have in common, lol)

So my goal this summer is to get off my butt, and work those glutes.  I love to run and surf, but those exercises are not helping to increase my muscle in that area, they are having the opposite effect.

I have made a commitment to run/surf 3-4 times per week and try to add in squats and lunges every day!

I found a few articles and I think this exercise is one I really need to try!

I know that genetics has a lot to do with my saggy bottom as well.  My mother has never had a butt as long as I can remember and I am destined to this same fate, if I don't do something about it.

Another big factor is my diet.  I eat when I am hungry and that's not very often.  My stomach only growls when I am REALLY hungry. I am one of those crazy people that gets going and forgets to eat! I often end up with headaches and no energy because of it!!

So that is my next step to alleviate my soggy bottom crisis.  I need to plan my meals!  I am working on it and I will give you more details next week!!

Okay, it's your turn!  What are your summer fitness goals?  Grab the button above or this one here and tell me how your Workin' It!

  1. I am so glad I found this linky. I can't wait to read everyone's fitness goals. I am the opposite of you when it comes to eating. I eat even when my stomach keeps telling me it is full and I am just bored. I too am trying to do some meal planning, but to lose weight. I hope that you plan helps you! I know if I would get up and do half of what you plan to I would most definitely lose some weight. Good luck!

  3. I love the Workin' it Wednesday idea! I already did a post today, so I'll have to think about posting next week. I've been doing Crossfit this summer. I totally don't want to be that girl taking selfies... LOL! But I'll have to share some of the things we've been doing. Today we did 750 meters on the rowing machine X2, and 30 burpees X2, and jumped rope X400! It's a killer workout!

  4. I just found your blog (I am moving up to 2nd grade in fall) and can totally relate! I lost about 5 pounds this year, but I feel like I aged 5 years too! My stomach always hurts because I eat poor, and I also have no butt! Hahaha, that has never been a big concern, but this post made me lol about it! Can't wait to keep reading . . .
