Five For Friday and Currently

Aloha Friday everyone!!  So happy to be linking up with some fabulous ladies on a Friday and a brand new month.

First I am linking up with Kasey from Doodle Bugs Teaching for her Five For Friday.

We went outside to measure the length of different whales.

We learned it takes about 22 students to equal the length of a Blue Whale!!

We also did some fun Whale Art using cool colors we would find in the ocean.

My daughter and her BFF enjoying the gorgeous Friday afternoon.
I was also checking my favorite surf spot ;)

When I came home I had some nice feedback from some of my wonderful customers on TpT and I was so excited to see this!! I never would have thought I would have 600 people who are interested in what I create. I remember being excited that I had 10 followers!! Thank you so much to anyone who has purchased any of my items and who follows my store.

I am also linking up with Farley and I guess this is one more pic, but who's counting??

That last one really gets me lately.  I have so many kids that when confronted about something always blame somebody else for why they did something!!

Do you get this??   "Billy where is your homework?"   "My mom didn't put it in my backpack!"   "Lisa why did you just push her?"  "Larry told me to do it!"

Okay I know this seems petty, but all day long I get this!! Today there was a HUGE mess in the math area and no one would take responsibility for it.  I feel like kids today more and more are not held accountable for things and it gets very frustrating...Okay there's my rant for the day and "breathe"....... Done!!

Head on over and link up with Farley!! She is one popular lady.  I will probably be the 100th person to link up if I'm quick!!

Enjoy the rest of your Friday and have a fantastic weekend.

  1. I am so jealous! I loved seeing your kids in shorts in the sun. It is freezing here and we had four days of inside recess!

Congrats on your store's success. I just started mine, and it is so small! I need time to upload some products.

  2. Congrats on 600 followers!!

And good luck with those Incoco strips! I could never get them to work on my nails. Before teaching, I worked at Walgreens and we would always have monthly advertising sale pushes on those, but I couldn't even make them work on my own nail. :-D

  3. I was thinking the same thing as Marcia above...lol...during the past three weeks, we had 10 days of indoor recesses! In my class of 23 kids (did I mention that 17 of them are boys? :P), a lack of outside time to run off excess energy does not make me a happy teacher...

I can relate to your pet peeve. I am always talking with kids about taking responsibility for their own jobs, their own learning, and their own behaviours. Unfortunately, I watched too many parents come into our school this week, making excuses for their child...

    Have a great weekend!

  4. Congrats on 600 followers!

Your pet peeve also drives me crazy. My students seem to think every time they make a mistake it's my fault. Ummm......I didn't remember holding your pencil while you wrote that 5 backwards. :/ Annoying!

Enjoy the weekend and the waves!

  5. Those are some beautiful pictures!! Looks like you are doing some fun measurement stuff. I'm sure it's hard to stay inside in Hawaii, though! I couldn't do it! Enjoy the surf this weekend. :) And yay for 600 followers!!!

  6. I'm on board with that pet peeve! "My mom didn't put my library book in my backpack." Mmm...not your mom's library book! I'm with ya.

  7. Ah yes....indoor recesses = pet peeves....we also did a cool colours lesson but with a snow scene :) The whales are so pretty! Still haven't heard if the groundhog saw his shadow, I need spring ! My only plans this weekend ( beside tea, book, fireplace, repeat) is a reno of our laundry room....is it sad that I find this exciting ????

  8. Love the gorgeous pictures of Hawaii. Wish I was there. One of my big pet peeves is kids not taking responsibility for their actions too. I got in trouble with a friend's little boy a couple of weeks ago. He was talking about how he had only had to move his clip down once because his dad didn't put his homework in his notebook. I told him he needed to be responsible for that himself. His response was he didn't want to talk about it anymore. Sometimes my teacher self just takes over.

  9. How fun with measuring the whales! I'm super-jealous of the beach pics! I haven't been to the beach in too long! My favorite excuse is always-well, Johnny was doing it too. Um, that doesn't make it right! But what are you gonna do! :)
