February Currently

Aloha Friday!!!   I know it's a day early but I am linking up with Farley for her monthly currently.

I guess the oldies station is on Pandora right now and I am listening to the Beatles.  It is perfect after a lot of rain this week and a beautiful sun shiny day!

The last week has been crazy in the ocean with huge surf and dangerous conditions.  Today the ocean was calm and beautiful again and I got the anxious feeling I get when I need to get out in the water.  I think I will be up bright and early tomorrow to paddle around.

Honestly my To-Do List is piling up that I need to seriously just chuck a few items out the door and only take on MUST Do items.

My new favorite drink right now is Smirnoff Ice.  These are so yummy and I can drink a few without getting a headache.  I'm such a lightweight ;)

I have been trying to find a new teacher bag for school.  I have asked many friends and fans and the biggest suggestions were to get a 31 Utility Bag or a Vera Bradley bag.  I checked them both out and they look roomy, but it's just not my style.  I am more of a Steve Madden girl.  Something a little more hip and funky.

This is what I want, but I need it a little bigger.  So I am off to shop this weekend.  Sunday is the perfect day to head to the mall because no one will be there!  Superbowl Sunday is my favorite time to shop.  The malls, Costco, the beaches are all deserted.

I know some of you probably love football, but me, not so much.

So did you figure out my two truths and my fib?

I honestly do not own a scale.  I had one years ago, but it broke.  I never bothered to pick one up and it is probably the best thing you can do for your self-esteem.  As long as I fit in my clothes, exercise and eat healthy and don't think weight matters one bit.

I hate going out on Fridays.  I am older now and I love going home, putting on my comfy shorts eating junk food and vegging out on the couch.  True story.

I think my body is in shock.  This is the longest I have ever gone without surfing since I started about 7 years ago.  The ocean has been terrible, but my daughters are older now and have so many afterschool activities, that surfing is not on the afternoon schedule anymore.  I plan to head out tomorrow, and I hope I can remember how to actually surf.

Wow, I have written a novel tonight!  Head on over and check out Farley's linky.

  1. that scale thing is a great idea... I get on mine everyday.... how freeing it would be to throw that sucker away... plus we disagree all the time so it would be nice to get that negative nelly out of my life.... thanks for linking up :)

  2. I love your blog design. Absolutely adorable. I am also jealous of your beaches and surfing....
I have never surfed but I love the beach.... and we have had -30* degree temps over the past week with tons of snow, so I cannot even imagine going outside to surf or in something other than a coat that resembles a small hut. lol. Have fun surfing tomorrow! =)

  5. I don't own a scale either! I agree with you, as long as my clothes fit and I feel good, that number really means nothing to me. I hope you have a good surf day tomorrow!

  6. I am another that doesn't own a scale - I completely agree with you that it's a HUGE self-esteem booster! I often wonder what my weight is, but won't go get a scale simply for the fact that as long as I'm moving and I fit in my clothes, I'm happy. I also cannot believe that you haven't gone surfing in a while! That's a BIG deal for you!! I hope that you're able to get out and do some surfing. Last but not least… you aren't alone on the not going out Friday nights - I'd rather come home and lounge around instead!

  7. I don't like going out on Fri night either. I prefer to chill out and am usually exhausted. Last night my middle son had a sleepover and fortunately my husband stayed up till they went to bed. I was wiped out. Good luck with your to do list. I know how that is.

  8. Ha, the meme with Julie Andrews! I actually love football and, even though my SD Chargers aren't playing, will definitely watch. Great idea though to take advantage in the break from the crowds. Hope you got in some surfing time today.

  9. My list isn't getting any shorter...wish I could chuck some stuff out the door, but they are work related. Hope you find a bag on Sunday. Enjoy your weekend.

  11. Have fun shopping for your bag! I just got a Vera Bradley bag that I use for school and love it! Although I need to consolidate because I am still carrying two other bags with it, at least on the weekends. I don't like doing anything on Friday nights...or Sunday nights either for that matter. Us teachers need a break! Have fun surfing!

  12. Hi Corinna - I'm crackin' up about your Sound of Music picture! I am super scared of sharks...so surfing seems like a bad idea for me. Ha! Aren't you glad your after school plans don't include shoveling snow? I think I might need to donate my scale to Goodwill - great advice!
