May Word Problems

Just a quick post this morning to let you know that my May Word Problems pack is finished.  Thank you for all of the kind feedback on my April pack.

I have been doing one everyday with my class and they are getting it!  They are finally starting to see what the questions is really asking them!

I cut my copies in half and put on a construction paper cover.  I have my helper pass them out and they do it as a math warm up.  I had an observation recently and my administrator really liked the format.  She was happy to see me progressing into the Common Core shift.

Here's a blank template if you would like to try out the format.
Just click on it to take you to Google Docs.

She also commented on my I Can Solve Word problem posters, and how they were a great reference for my kids.

I am linking up with Mrs. Wheeler's class for more great resources!!

I hope if you purchased these  they have been as helpful to you.  If you would like to try my May pack leave me a comment below with your email and I will pick three people to send them to.  I will pick Sunday night.

Enjoy your Saturday and stop back tomorrow for some crafty fun!

  3. I really like this, and appreciate the blank template. I'm going to try the format this week with my 2nd graders. Even though we've been doing math journal all year with some really engaging prompts, some are still struggling to figure it all out. I've pinned and added to my TpT wishlist. Thanks!

  12. I've always thought part of the difficulty with word problems was the name...take out the 'problem' part and maybe it would be easier!

Would love to win a set of these, since word 'challenges' are still a challenge for us!

  15. This is fantastic! One of the biggest challenges for my students is identifying what the question is asking and explaining how they solved it. I would certainly use this pack in my class!!! flynn.meredith.26@yahoo.com and follow me at fromafirstyearteacher.blogspot.com
