Blog Organization

Aloha one and all! Are you hard at work on those New Year's Goals and Resolutions?

One thing that has been hard for me to do has been organizing all of my blogging items.  I started this blog at the end of February 2012, and didn't really know what to expect.  I just wanted to share ideas and pics of what was happening in my classroom. My first post:)

Then I started making connections with other bloggers and opened up my own TpT store in May.  I didn't think of it as anything much, but WOW! It snowballed into almost...I daresay...a second job!!

Seriously there is so much to this little blog now and I am sometimes completely overwhelmed!!

So I decided it was time to get this little side job organized and treat it like the real job that it is.

When I started  this is all that I used for the first year.

Whenever I had an idea I would write it down, or sketch it out.  It is also filled with all of my login/password codes for the numerous sites I use.

Well that little book is completely filled up now!!

So what am I using this year??

I really wanted to get one of these babies!!

But after looking at in online, I really wanted to get my hands on it and see if I liked it physically.
Plus the $50 price tag was just a bit too steep after this Christmas in Arizona.

I was also told about this wonderful product from The Clutter Free Classroom.

It has tons of printables to help you stay organized, but I wanted something that was sturdy and colorful, and again I wanted to know exactly what was in it!!

So I headed out to Target to see what they had.

This is what I found.

The cover is laminated along with the tabs for each month, and you can slip pictures inside the clear pocket on the front

It's 8.5 x 11 which gives me more room and has monthly and weekly dates:)

I also found this little baby!! I can write down all my passwords in one place and not go hunting for them when I forget.  I need to find a safe place for this one!!

I also found a pretty journal to sketch and write down any ideas I get at 2 am!!

So I bought all of these, which were on sale for a lot less than I would have paid for the Erin Condren planner.  I knew exactly what was in there, and it's pretty!

Since I was in the organizing mode I also picked up this great little filing box for my weekly work at school.

I plan to make labels for Monday through Friday and have all of my printables for the week in here.  What I have now is a mess!!

I love the lid too, it pops open for extra storage.

I am so excited to start planning and organizing for this new year!

Do I sound like a total nerd? I am, it's the Virgo in me I guess. I love to have everything in order, lol.

Well I am off to fill up my books with wonderful ideas for the new year and plan for my day back to work tomorrow.

How do you keep your blog posts/products organized?  I'd love to hear all about it!

  3. I am going to be honest...I wish I didn't buy the Erin Condren planner:( I mean, I like it a lot, I just don't use it all that often. I think if I used it more I would LOVE it.

  7. Ooh, love your finds! You seem much more organized than me, but it's one of my goals to work on this year! I, too, didn't use my Erin Condren planner as much as I should have last year. I found one somewhat similar (but not so hard core, if you know what i mean) on Etsy and just bought it yesterday (for just $30, it's at least $20 cheaper.) :)

Wishing you a wonderful 2013! Oh, I also LOVE that file box--I may have to get the same one for my classroom!

  9. I agree. I also need to get my blog organized. I started it a while ago, but I never find myself updating it. I need to start writing blogs and saving them to post. I have the Erin Condren planning and I love it. Definitely a large expense though.

  10. I think Target is in my near future. Like...tomorrow! That organizer is cutesy, girly and has enough space for blog 'creations'. If I could just find a way to organize it all!

  11. I'm obsessed with planners and notebooks. This summer I bought the smaller version of the planner you got. I stood in the aisle at Target forever. My 2 year old niece was trying to help me pick one and she liked them all. I was reading this post on my phone while my husband and I were on our way to TJ Maxx. I was inspired by you and ending up buying several different notebooks. Good think my hubby wasn't paying too much attention. I'm trying to get myself organized with my blog as well. Love your blog!
