September Currently

Aloha everyone!  Here we are the first day of September!!  I feel like it was just summer break and now we are one month into school!?  My life seems to be flashing before my eyes!!  Well it is time to link up with Farley for her famous Currently.

I have two daughters now 9 and 11 and I suggested they watch King Kong which is on streaming Netflix.  It came out in 1976 when I was in second grade and I remember seeing it in the theater.  I don't think they are impressed lol!

Today I dedicated the day to cleaning my backyard.  It is an absolute mess!! My hubby is a P-A-C-K R-A-T!!  He often works construction and comes home with odds and ends that he may possibly need one day!  It seriously looks like Sanford and Son back there.  I'm afraid someone will sign us up to be on Hoarders!  I made him do a few dump runs and clean up my laundry area, but he still wouldn't part with that old mini refrigerator and air conditioner that have been sitting in the shed for over two years!

I absolutely agree with Farley that we need to take care of us to be happy.  I tell this to others all the time, but I get so wrapped up in work and my own children that sometimes I do put myself last.

Yesterday was the first day there have been waves in a few weeks and I headed out early to take advantage of it. Getting out in the water is such good therapy for me.  It puts me in such a wonderful mood, I am away from all electronic devices and I always have a good time chatting with others in the water.

Now to schedule a massage for myself and take care of my toes!

I hope you all are having a fantastic 3 day weekend!  Head on over to Farley's and link up!

Head back here tomorrow for a little Labor Day giveaway.

  3. I'm bad at taking care of myself. I usually just crash. I've only had one massage. I'm not sure if I like it. I do enjoy pedicures though. Good idea!

  4. I know what you mean about being in the water. Of course, where you live is the most beautiful place to be on the water. Even though there is not an ocean near me, I love to be on the water {lake, river, etc...}. I know I talk about it all the time in my post. We take a vacation every year near Florida just to be near the ocean. I have been to Hawaii once, but I would love to visit again. This time I would bring my kiddos so they could enjoy it too. Thanks for sharing.

  5. I love your 3 heart things! Sometimes all you need is a pedicure to pick you right up! ;) I totally wish I was near the water. Sometimes it's hard to "get away" from all the electronics, because I live in the middle of a city, in a land-locked, full of cornfields state. Enjoy your water time!

  9. I am beginning to see a theme amongst this linky... we need to take care of ourselves. I couldn't agree more. On another note, I have been known to sit and watch a couple episodes of Hoarders before cleaning and organizing. I swear it works!
