Techy Tuesday-Printer Troubles

Aloha friends!  I hope the start to your week has been a good one, especially if you are just coming back from Spring Break.

Today I wanted to share a little info with you about printing and printing problems that may occur  when you are trying to print out those great teaching resources.

Last week I created these cute posters on my Mac.

I was really excited because I had been meaning to do this all year.  So I saved my file to Google Drive and went to print it out on my printer which is connected to my PC.  I know, I know way too many devices, lol!

When I printed it out I got this!!

The top picture shows what was on my screen and the bottom is what printed out!! It was only doing this on this one page! Ahhh, I was so upset! I checked it and printed again and it still did it!

Well I talked to some blogging buddies and found out that I need to upgrade my PDF program on my PC.  Since I had created this on the lastest version on my Mac, my older PC version was not reading it correctly and kept giving me this!!

So I went in and cleaned up my files a bit and updated all that I could on my PC.  I have Adobe Reader, so I just went to their site and updated to the latest version.

I reprinted and....

They printed out fine!! Hurray for updating new technology, lol! (The one giving me trouble was the pink one right in the middle with the apples. You can see the black square by the D is gone!)

Hopefully this never happens when you print out, what a waste of ink!!  But if it does try updating your PDF, reboot your computer and then open up the file again.

Happy printing!!

  2. So annoying, isn't it? Happened when I was printing at my mom's...am pretty sure her PC is running the prehistoric version of everything! Glad you solved the problem and hadn't tried to print lots of files at once!

  3. Thanks for the tip ! Funny, I printed your posters and they were great except one had a black square. I put a butterfly sticker , fit perfectly , and I was ready to laminate. The old fashioned fix, haha. Now I know the techy fix :)

Your style is so my style! Also you have probably heard this a million times before, but i am sooooo jealous you live in Hawaii.
