Shave Ice Is Da Best

Aloha friends! Today I wanted to share a favorite treat of most people in Hawaii.

All kids in Hawaii love Shave Ice.  If you have ever traveled here you know that this is a must have!

This is our favorite place for Shave Ice.

On a warm day it is always crowded!!

There are tons of flavors to choose from and the price is right for what you get.

My daughter's is the  purple cup.  She chose the Sour Pucker.  Mine is the blue, which is the tropical mix.  Kids LOVE Shave Ice, so I created a little activity to add to my Aloha Unit.

I know my class will love making this and writing about Shave Ice.  I have included several writing templates to include kids who may have never tried it, or kids who live in Hawaii who love it!

If you are crafty you can whip up your own version of this, but if you want to grab this along with lots of other fun Hawaiian activities stop by my TpT store.  If you have already purchased this unit, then please stop by and download again.

I am linking up with Mrs. Wheeler's First Grade too!
Stop by and check out all the great posts!

I really want to do this activity with my kiddos and am hoping I have time in the next few weeks.  If not I will have to save it for the beginning of the year.

Have you ever had Hawaiian Shave Ice?  I would love to hear when, where and what flavors you chose!

  1. Love Shave Ice! Heard about Hawaii's, but haven't tried it yet! Maybe this summer when I visit my brother!

  2. Love Shave Ice! When I was there with my family, pretty sure we had it every day! And then when we got home, we bought a shave ice maker. But it's not the same eating it in your own home :(

  4. OMG! I am salivating right now. Those look so so yummy. I did have some in my one fabulous week of my life that I spent there. My friend in college ran a shave ice shack on Cape Cod (of all places! and where I live now) and I ate it a ton that summer. Yum! I think I'll go with mango as my favorite!
