Product Swap

Aloha friends! I am excited to be a part of the fun Blogger Product Swap.

MrsStanfordsClass

Today I am teaming up with the wonderful and sweet Heather from Teach It Today.

Heather is a second grade teacher in California (Wine Country) and her husband is a winemaker!  I wish my hubs was a winemaker.  I think he made beer once......lol!

I am really happy to be sharing an item that Heather so generously gave me to use in my class.  She has a great new product out called Winter Is Snow Much Fun!

This is a great pack filled with lots of fun winter themed activities to keep your kiddos busy and happy.

There are a variety of skills to choose from:

Graphing

Place Value

Writing

Reading Comprehension

Sequencing

ABC Order

Punctuation

Fact and Opinion

Long Vowel Review

and

A Making Words Activity

Even though we live in Hawaii, my kids love talking about snow and imagining what it would be like to be in a cold place.  Our pen pals are in Canada, and they are just fascinated that it is cold and snowy there!

I really like that everything is easy to print and put together.

The first thing I did was take some of the independent sheets and make a finished work packet.  For years I have gathered worksheets from different resources and put them together to make a monthly packet for students to keep in their "To Do" folders.  It was nice to have some brand new fun sheets that my students would enjoy, and it was all in one place with great skills for 2nd grade.

I just place the sheets in this basket for students who finish their work.  I have learned not to make it mandatory. If I tell students they have to do something, then it won't get done.  If I make it a choice then of course they all want to do it.  As soon as the other students see a new activity they try to finish up their work so they can grab it!

I am sure you could also assign them for review and for a change in homework.

I also added the Place Value activity to my math game area.  I printed a few copies in color and some in black and white.  I placed them in sheet protectors for more durability.

I also glued the game pieces onto construction paper to make them stronger.

My students always love when I add a new game to our math area, and this one if great for practicing place value.

There is also a graphing activity sheet included with this unit that I plan to use next week, along with some great writing activities to get them thinking about winter.

This whole unit is perfect for the cold, chilly months  ahead. I guess not so chilly here, but we are wearing sweaters in the morning!!

Heather also has some great ideas in here for organization and how to use them in your classroom.

You can pick up this great unit in her TpT store, but we are having a little giveaway for this unit and a set of my Doodle Frames.  Just enter in the Rafflecopter below.
