October Currently

A quick post tonight because I just love linking up to Farley's Currently linkies:))

It has been a hot muggy day here so we headed to the beach this afternoon to stay cool.  I am a wimp when it comes to cold weather, I love the heat, but today was a warm one!!  Today was the first day I have surfed  without a wetsuit, lol!!

It is one of those quiet still nights where there is not even a breeze and all I can hear is the pleasant sound of Doves cooing, while my daughters are resting after a long but fun afternoon.

We went to the dentist this morning and of course told me what I was expecting to hear...my daughter will need braces.  Time to start the brace fund!!  No more frivilous spending, like I do that anyway!  But this week I did splurge and I bought myself a MacBook Pro!  I did not have my own laptop and I need it for all of this blogging business!!  I love all the fancy features, but it is taking me some time to get used to it after using a PC for years.

Finally I just love Halloween and all the fun books in my library, but these are a few of my faves that I share with my class every year.

Alright we are all starving here so I guess I have to go make dinner now.  Don't forget to link up.  I look forward to reading everyone's posts later on my new laptop!

  7. I love Halloweiner. It is a great book. The teachers in first grade read the book and do the cute organzier that goes with it so now I can only read the book. :( That's okay though. I have many other great books to read to them. Thanks for sharing. I am off to do Farley's October Currently.

  9. I love your blog design! So clean cut. Congrats on a new Macbook Pro. My husband keeps trying to convince me we need to get a retina display, I told him not until my current computer dies a tragic death. ;)

  11. Congratulations on your Macbook!! I got one last year and LOVE everything about it!! Check out Kristen at ladybug teacher files..she has some great tutorials on using power point with macs. That's where I learned a lot of the cool stuff. Made using it so much easier. Powerpoint is awesome..make sure you get that if you don't already have it!! :) Have fun!! What a great time to start working with it over break. Enjoy the rest of it!!

  12. You will LOVE your Mac. Once you are Mac, there is no turning back.
Good luck with the braces years. I spent many hours sitting in the orthodontist waiting room - ask if they have wifi, then you can work on you Mac!

    1. Uh, oh, I don't think we can be friends anymore, you have turned to the dark side of surfing, lol!! There are so many SUP's in the water here, it gets kind of annoying, and they are much more dangerous than regular surfboards. If you come here you are only allowed to surf;)

    2. ha!!! trust me, there was NO ONE out there! and if there was, I definitely would NOT get in their way...I'd be on the beach...or out there on a board surfing along side them...I know how people "see" sup-ers...lol!!
