Summer Fun

Aloha Friends!!

I hope you are off to a great summer vacation, and if you are still in the classroom I hope you are enjoying some fun end of the year activities.

I am home for the summer and enjoying some down time. However my internal alarm is still on!!

With some extra time on my hands I have been working on a few fun items.

I have been planning a monthly series of fun Riddle Review Sheets.  I just finished a summer version.

Each page has a different skill and a riddle to decode.  I created a similar pack at Christmas and have a freebie from March if you want to check them out.

I know how much my students love solving new riddles, so I really enjoyed putting this together.
You can click on the picture to  pick it up in my TpT shop.

If you just need a little something to use with your class these last few weeks or if your teaching summer school, this would be a great resource to have on hand.

I also created a Word Search that I used with my class and have uploaded it in my shop as a freebie.
It also includes another Ocean Themed Word Search and a challenge activity to go with it.  Summer time and the ocean are two of my favorite things and I'm sure you will enjoy using them with your class!

Summertime is such an important time for us to recoup and gain back our teaching stamina for the fall.  If you are already soaking up the sun, I hope you enjoy every minute!

Happy Summer!

Pineapple Daze

Aloha friends!  These warm days of summer have me lounging, snoozing reading and creating.  Just a quick post today to share these fun little posters I created for my classroom.

There seems to be a pineapple obsession at the moment so I turned it into something fun!  I love the bright colors and can't wait to get them printed out and put up in my classroom.  If you have a love of pineapples too, these might be just what you need.  You can check them out in my TpT shop.

I hope you are enjoying your summer as much as I am. I have 1 more week to stay up reading until midnight, lounging at the beach and being all around lazy.  August 1st is when the craziness of Back To School begins!

Why I Love Summer

Aloha friends!  I am kicking back relaxing at home again and decided to link up with my sweet friend Aimee over at Primarily Speaking.

What do I love about summer?  The question really is What don't I love about summer?

Me Time

This year I became a full time single mama and I have been one busy lady!!  With work, running my girls around to all of their after school activities, cooking, cleaning, etc... there hasn't been a lot of time for me.  My girls are spending the summer in California with their dad and I honestly didn't know what to do with myself when they left!

Surfing

My favorite time to surf is summer.  The waves are small and the water uncrowded
because everyone is at work. I can also stay out there as long as I want!
One morning I met BU the Surfing Pig out in the water.
He definitely caught more waves than me!!

He even has his own YouTube channel!!

Friends

It is so nice to dress up and talk with adults!

Working Out / Eating Right

On June 1st I took on the Whole30 challenge.  It is now Day 18 and I have stuck with it and I love it!
With the girls gone cooking for myself and sticking to it has been much easier than if they were here.
I also started PiYo.  I'm not a fan of yoga.  Everyone tells me it is so good for you, but every time I do it I am so bored! I need to move!  Then I saw a video from Chalene Johnson telling about how she created PiYo which uses Yoga and Pilates and you are moving around the whole time.  So I thought I would give it a try.   I love it!!  In just a few weeks with clean eating and doing PiYo everyday I have slimmed down and feel so much stronger.

Shopping

I am so stinking excited to go to Vegas in 2 weeks!!  I will be there for the whole week so I need 5 different outfits for each day along with some accessories. I have been doing lots of in store and on line shopping to get ready!  The dress above is one of my purchases.  I bought another  dress and some new shoes.  I picked up a bathing suit yesterday, and I may need a few new shirts too.  Whether I was going to Vegas or not, I love shopping.  However, my bank account does not!!

What are your favorite things about summer?  Head over to Primarily Speaking to link up!

Monday Made It and A Giveaway!!

I am so excited about linking up with Tara again for Monday Made It because I have made something fun, but also I am celebrating over 250 followers with a fun Summer Giveaway!!

So this week my inspiration came from this...

crayon-roll-7.jpg

I wanted to make a Teacher Emergency Kit for my class. I love those cute little Pikle bags
but it's not in my budget.  So I adapted the design above.
I picked out some colorful fabric and made it larger than the crayon roll.
It measures about 7"x 19"
I sewed in some different sized pockets, but forgot the ribbon!! So I just used an extra piece of fabric to tie it together.
I can fit in all my essentials...comb, mints, hair bands, feminine items, nail clippers/file and I think I even have room for my chapstick and roll of Sweettarts!
So I decided to make another one and give it away to one of my wonderful followers!!

More cute fabric and I remembered the ribbon!!

There are  little pockets about 3 inches apart

I have started you off with some goodies to fill it..... but that's not all!
