Workin' It Wednesday

Aloha friends! Welcome to my last week of Workin' It Wednesday.  I enjoyed writing my posts, but I think this summer there were WAY too many linky parties to choose from.

Today I am on day 9 of my 30 day squat challenge.  100 squats!  I am actually starting to feel a difference.  My shorts were very tight when I put them on yesterday, lol!  I have to remember it's muscle that is building.

I just had to share that I made it into the top 25 Teacher Moms!! I got an email yesterday and I can proudly dislplay my new badge!

My blog will be featured on their site and hopefully bring by some new readers. Thank you, thank you, thank you to all of you who stopped by each day to vote!!

Some fun things I have been Workin' on have been these chalkboard buttons and papers.  I know they are all over the place, but it was fun experimenting with them.  Click on the picture to find them in my TpT store.

This set of chevrons is not quite finished, but I like the way they look

I think my problem is I have more fun making things than using them!  Now I have to work on a project to use them.

That's all I've got this week.  I am finishing up my summer class and working on my final paper.  I will be so glad when it is finally done!

Don't forget to link up and share out what you've been Workin' on!

Workin' It Wednesday-July 2nd

Aloha! Wednesday again?  I am a little upset that my summer is at it's midpoint.  Where has my vacation gone!?

This week I have a hodgepodge of things that I have been Workin' on.

The first is promoting my blog for Circle of Moms Top Teacher Blogger contest.
There are only 6 more days left until the contest ends.  Right now I am sitting at 96 votes.  Not bad, but I have 700 people following me on Bloglovin' and over 1,000 on Facebook!  If I could just have all my fans vote once I would be so honored!  Just click on the cute owl above to take you to the voting page.

This week I also started my 30 Day Squat Challenge.  Lori blogged about this and even made a great chart to use.  I get such a great upper body workout surfing, but my lower end is not too happy!

Click on the picture to take you to her post.

A few other things I have been Workin' on:

I have made my own lesson planner. It is not as fancy as some others, but it is perfect for what I need.  It has lesson plans, a calendar and a grade book.  Once I finish the final touches and get it printed out and put together I will share.

Are you like me during summer break?  I have quite a bit of time on my hands and I tend to shop quite a bit.  These are a few items I have purchased that I am enjoying.

I don't have the luxury of having a separate office to work.  I have my laptop and I sit on my comfy couch when I create.  I finally decided to  stop using a book on my lap and bought myself this lap desk.  I wish I had purchased this long ago!!  It is so comfy on my lap and it has room for a wireless mouse which is on it's way!!

I also got these babies yesterday and I am excited to be able to use them in my new planner.

How's that for Workin' It!!  Bet you thought I led such an exciting life here in Hawaii ;)

I can't wait for you to link up below or share out on Instagram!

Workin' It Wednesday

Aloha friends! For being so busy this week I can't believe I have had time to post each day. I have another quick post today for Workin' It Wednesday.

This week I have been Workin' on some artsy things.

I had an idea for some digital papers and I decided to play around with the design.  This is what I came up with.

I wanted something new to add a pop of color to my cover pages.

I created a bunch of different color combos to use year round. There are over 30 different papers.

If you would like to win a set leave me a comment below and I will choose a winner tomorrow.

I also wanted to leave you with a sample you can use for the upcoming 4th of July holiday.

Just click on any of the pictures below to grab them in Google Docs.

Hopefully you can use these for some fun creations.

Please link up below with how you have been Workin' It this week. I always love reading  your posts about the fun things you have been Workin' on.

Workin' It Wednesday

Aloha friends! So glad you stopped by for another addition of Workin' It Wednesday.

I have a feeling most of us that have been on vacation for a few weeks are settling into a relaxed vacation mode.  I am no longer waking up at 5a.m., but now rolling out of bed around 6 a.m.!  I grab my coffee and head to my computer.

Add reading blog posts and this is pretty much true!

I mentioned last post that my sister and her kids are here visiting for a few weeks.  They live in Phoenix and I don't see them that often.  I have been taking them around the island to enjoy some of our favorite spots.

This is my niece, nephew and my sister in Waikiki enjoying a gorgeous day.

My sister and I are very close even though we only see each other once or twice a year.  In our twenties we lived together and we practically finished each others sentences.  She is one of those naturally gorgeous girls that when we would walk down the street, men would literally fall off sidewalks or walk into poles while staring at her!

I used to really struggle with my weight and she was thin as a rail!  I was so jealous of how she never watched what she ate and I had to work out all the time just to keep a decent weight. She used to complain about walking up a flight of stairs!

Now that we are older we are both active, but now she is the one really working out, watching what she eats and looking fabulous!!  She is in training for this event:

I am amazed that she is committing to this event.  She is not getting hugely buff, but entering one of the many fitness categories.  Well she has been giving me workout tips and has been making me do more than just jogging and surfing.

Today we hit the bike path and ran/walked down to the beach. She put me to work.

It's hard running in the sand, but it really works those glutes!

Check out those guns, lol!

Balance is very important for surfing.
I wonder if I could do this on my surfboard?

We found a less sandy spot along the bike path to continue our workout.

I never workout this hard!

I was exhausted, but it was great to have someone to workout with and enjoy the gorgeous morning!

I was content with just that workout, but she wants to make me do this again tomorrow!!??
Hmm, we'll see how my legs feel about it!

I would love to hear how you have been Workin' It this week.  Link up your blog post or on Instagram #workinitwednesday.

Workin' It Wednesday

Aloha everyone!  It's been a busy week so far with my sister and her kids visiting us.  They came in on Monday night and we hit the beach early Tuesday morning.  My nephew is 2 and has never seen the ocean before.

He was so excited and played and played and played. Adorable.

They will be here for two weeks, so we plan on having some more fun adventures.

This week I wanted to share how I have been Workin' on some things at home.  I shared on Friday how I am redecorating my daughters bedroom.  We finished painting and adding a few more accessories.

Her bed needs a few more round long pillows, but this is a good start.

I painted a few flowers, but didn't make it too busy to detract from the elephant.

We added some bling and details to the elephant.

Her glittery curtains over her closet.

All in all I think she is pretty happy with it.

We plan to keep our eyes open for fun accessories to keep adding.

This week I also wanted to share how I have been Workin' on eating right this summer.

A few years ago I started reading about the benefits of Coconut Oil.  You can use it to substitute almost any kind of oil.  I LOVE anything coconut so when I started reading about it I had to get myself some.

I use it in lots of recipes instead of vegetable oil.

I am also very sensitive to skin care products, so I started using it as body lotion. It smells so good and gives you nice healthy glow.  I even make my own deodorant with it.  I mix up coconut oil with baking soda.  It is amazing!  TMI?

Well in my hunt for all things I could do with coconut oil,
I came across a great recipe for Gluten-Free Coconut Waffles.

Since I have more time this summer I whipped up a batch of these on Sunday.

You need all of these ingredients, plus quite a few eggs.

Luckily our hens Martha and Abigail produce enough eggs for our family and then some.

Mix up all of the ingredients

Pour the batter in your waffle maker.

Add some delicious toppings. (Maple syrup tastes yummy too!)
This recipe make 10 waffles which are incredibly filling and very coconutty!

I have also given up Soy Milk. This is my new favorite.  I add it to my coffee and use it in cereal.

I have also been cutting back on my sugar intake and using Stevia to sweeten my coffee and tea.

There are so many little ways you can change up your diet to be healthy and delicious.

I was unsure if I wanted to share this picture on here, I am a fairly modest person. But my sister snapped this picture of me with my daughter at the beach and I didn't gag or want to delete it.

I have been Workin' out and eatin' right and I have to say at 44 I am happy with the way my body looks.  Not something that I ever said in my 20's or 30's.

I hope this summer finds you Workin' on something that makes your feel good. Don't forget to link up your Workin'  It Wednesday posts here or your pics on Instagram.
