December Math Centers

Aloha friends!  Can you believe it is already November 20th!!??  It snuck up so quickly.  I was starting to sweat about my Thanksgiving dinner.  If you know me then you know that cooking is just not my thing!!

Seriously this is no joke.  I have a whole Pinterest board named Mmmm, but I have never once made anything.

I toyed around with the idea of just having a really fancy meal, like a surf and turf dinner instead of the traditional dinner.  My oldest daughter looked like she was going to cry when I told her we weren't going to have turkey.  She even told all her friends at school that "We weren't celebrating Thanksgiving".  Apparently she got lots of invites to friend's homes.

What a horrible mother I am.

Luckily my neighbor came over yesterday and invited us to her house for dinner.  She loves to cook, and when I say loves it's really L-O-V-E-S!  Whew! What a relief, all I have to bring is salad!  I'm pretty sure I can do that, and my daughter is happy again.

In all this craziness of the holidays I have finished some fun math centers for my second graders.

Don't you just love those graphics?!  The wonderful Nikki over at Melonheadz made them special for me!

I just had to get right to work and make something fun.  I asked my wonderful Facebook fans what types of skills they would like to see in this pack and I had the same replies.  Addition and subtraction with regrouping, time, fluency and place value.  So here are five different centers.

My students can just write on the cards or use these numbers to physically manipulate the numbers.

A poster with steps to regrouping is also included.

Again students can write on the card with a dry erase marker to do their work.

Then they can check their work by finding the matching answer cards.

I also created a poster to go along with it to remind them of the steps.

I included worksheets as well to help review.

I think my students are going to really enjoy these centers!  If you love these as much as I do you can click {HERE} to purchase them in my TpT shop.

Now I am off the finish my nice warm cup of Chai Tea and relax after a long day.  As always I am so happy you stopped by!

Where Do You Get Your Clipart??

Aloha Friends!  Hope the week is going well for you. Can you believe it is Wednesday!! I have parent teacher conferences this week, and they are going very well, but it is so hot here still, that it is just stifling in my classroom! Today I finished at 3:00 and headed straight to the beach:)  I think some of you know that I always have my surfboard in my van ready to go.
If you lived in our little town you would recognize my car easily...

The Odyssey emblem fell off about two years ago and I replaced it  with this:)

My surfmobile is always ready to go at a moments notice.  It was a perfect overcast muggy afternoon, that makes getting in the ocean a must.  I love being out in the water  and hearing "Hi Ms. Gandara!!"
Several of my students were out  in the water as well, and I always paddle over and try to catch a few waves with them:)

Which brings us back to our topic, "Where Do You Get Your Graphics Linky??" Casey  over at Second Grade Math Maniac is having a linky.

I had to join up, because  this has been another little obsession of mine lately.  I started digital scrapbooking years ago, so I had piles of clip art freebies and background papers that I had downloaded from many different sites.  Once I started creating my own products I had to find more kid friendly items.  These are some of my faves:

And I also dabble a little in my own clip art.   I have been making my own background papers lots of which are free in my TpT store:)
I also had to draw a few items for my last creation.

Not the greatest, but it worked for me!!

What is your favorite clip art?? Go link up with Casey and share some great artwork:))
