First Grade Common Core Owls

Aloha everyone! I hope everyone is enjoying their Sunday.  I have a bit of quiet time before my family wakes up.  I am a morning person and love the peace and quiet before my house comes alive.

I have been so busy! I can't believe it is already June 23rd!! I have been on break for a whole month?  I have a to do list a mile long and am working to get it all done before I go back to work! My sister and her kids are still here so most school/work/blog related items are on hold.

This is my sweet nephew. He is definitely a mama's boy and didn't really bond with me until a few days ago.  We went to the beach yesterday and it started to rain.  He ran and jumped into my lap and snuggled with me until the rain stopped. They are here for only three more days, so I am making every minute count.

Owl Finished

Aloha Monday everyone! That just doesn't sound as good as Aloha Friday ;)  I was planning to link up with Monday Made It today, but I don't know if this is very crafty.  

I had a few requests for my Common Core Posters in an owl theme.  I searched for some cutesy owls and found these from Pink Cat Studio.  I just love her graphics!  I also grabbed her frames and got busy.

I think they are adorable! Makes me want to have an owl theme!!  They are both posted in my TpT store and I will get them up in my TN store soon!  As usual I would love to give away a set.  Please leave a comment with your email and I will pick a random person tomorrow morning.

My sister and her kids are on a plane headed to Hawaii as I type.  I am sooo excited!! She will be here for two weeks and I will not be blogging much for those two weeks, except for my Workin' It Wednesday posts.  So I am off to finish cleaning my house and preparing for a house full of guests.

Common Core Pin It To Win It

Aloha everyone!  Happy Monday. When you are on vacation everyday is a happy one, well almost.  I had a terrible day yesterday :(  I got up early and went surfing for the first time in awhile, but forgot my spare key.  I didn't want to drive all the way home so I took my electronic key off my key chain and stashed it in the bushes on the beach.  When I finished surfing I went to go get my key and could not find it!! You know that feeling of dread?  I went to my car and it was completely cleaned out!!  I didn't have my wallet in there, but they took my phone and all of my surf gear, plus they have my electronic key :((((

So there I was with my bikini on, no towel, (they took that too), no phone to call anyone and crying in my car.  Luckily I wasn't too far from home and a friend of mine showed up to surf.  I don't usually get emotional over things like that, but I was pretty upset.

I talked to a few people who were in the area and they said it happens all the time.  Apparently it is a huge problem and the police are not much help.  So calling my insurance today to see if they will cover the cost of replacing the locks and keys on the car.  I guess it was a good thing they just grabbed all the goods and left the car.

But onto better days right?! Not going to let this get me down!  

Just a quick post today to update you on my Common Core Posters.  I created these last summer and they have been some of my Best Selling items.

I now have all my sets finished for grades 1-3 in both Language Arts and Math.  I also have them in 3 different designs for each grade - Tropical Dots, Chevron and Plain.

The different strands have a different color to help you organize them.  Check out this post to see how I use them in my class.  It was so handy to have these in a binder by my desk.  I could quickly find my standard and post it up on my whiteboard for my lesson.

Aloha Fall Sale

Aloha Friday everyone and Happy First Day of Fall! Can you believe it is already September 21st??  Does it feel like Fall where you live?? I grew up in Colorado and I really miss the Fall more than any other season. New jackets and warm sweaters, boots, scarves, hats:))  I am not complaining about Hawaii, but the weather here is still very warm and my most recent clothing purchase was a new bikini top for surfing:))

I am actually really excited for the Fall season because the surf starts to pick up here.  This weekend there are actually supposed to be waves, so I plan to be out in the ocean as much as possible!!  To celebrate the start of the Fall/Surf Season I am throwing a sale along with lots of other bloggers this weekend in my TpT store.  Every item will be 20% off.
